OPENING OF THE KARLOVAC-TURANJ HOMELAND WAR MUSEUM

The latest component of the Karlovac City Museum shows the lives of people and events during the Homeland War in the wider Karlovac area. The Karlovac-Turanj Homeland War Museum has an exhibition of exceptional memorial, historical, cultural and educational value at the level of the Republic of Croatia. The new star of Karlovac’s tourist offerings is supported by the fact that the Museum was visited by over 7,000 visitors in 30 days from the opening, while the Museum appeared on all leading news programs in Croatia on the day it opened. 

BRANDING OF KARLOVAC COUNTY

Promotion and branding of destinations are a respected practice, and Karlovac County has recognized that. First, it was necessary to make an analysis of the situation, explore the key elements of identity, image and recognizability of what is offered to tourists, as well as the potential of Karlovac County as a destination. Then the values ​​and potentials of this area were defined, and afterwards brand architecture and the relationship between the brand of Karlovac County and the brands of cities/municipalities/experiential regions were defined. All of the above served as a basis for defining a new tourist slogan, and ultimately for creating a new visual identity of the Karlovac County Tourist Board, a book of graphic standards and a brand book.

STARS SUMMER 2019

On the occasion of the 440th birthday of the city of Karlovac, a new, attractive tourist event was launched. The starry summer gave Karlovac an unforgettable 440 hours of a real birthday atmosphere. Numerous visitors to the city enjoyed over 200 programs on its four rivers – from concerts, exhibitions, festivals, events to sports and meetings. The celebration began with a birthday ball attended by 440 couples and ended with a spectacular Gibonni concert, while the most attractive part of the event was the Balloon Festival. During the Star Summer, the Karlovac-Turanj Homeland War Museum was ceremoniously opened.

BETTER FUTURE OF HEALTHY AGEING 2020

The University of Zagreb, School of Medicine, organized the largest scientific e-conference within the Croatian Presidency of the Council of the European Union. Held in the Andrija Štampar School of Public Health, BFHA2020 virtually networked over 600 participants from 30 countries, who presented new scientific knowledge about healthy aging. The conference adopted a Policy Paper with recommendations for healthier ageing and the sustainability of health systems, which will be an integral part of the EU Green Paper.

“MORE KNJIGA“ – unique manifestation of book promotion and reading

Every year Zrinjevac Park turns into the most desirable beach where all book lovers have the opportunity to enjoy their favourite book while drinking cocktails on the sand representing a beach in the middle of Zagreb.

ZAGREB ADVENT RUN

The unique costumed Zagreb Advent Run race is part of the experience of the beautiful advent in Zagreb. This humanitarian race gathers hundreds of racers dressed up as Santa Clauses, fairies, elves, reindeers and other characters from the Christmas stories, running through downtown.

ZMAJURJEVO – A DASH OF THE MIDDLE AGES IN THE CENTRE OF ZAGREB

Zagreb’s unique medieval fair is held every year in Ribnjak park. The happening is inspired by a legend of the battle between Saint George and a wicked dragon, revived in the show entitled “The legend of Saint George and the Dragon” by members of the Guardians of Zagreb association, in addition to scenography and costumes which they hand-made out of original samples of traditional materials.

BREAKING OF GUINNESS WORLD RECORD IN KUPRES

With main goal of breaking the world record for the most people with the same first name being present in the same place, 2325 Ivans gathered in Kupres. Ivans, who had come from all areas of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia and the diaspora, broke the former record of 1000 people with the same first name getting together in the same place, putting this area of Bosnia and Herzegovina in The Guinness Book of Records, successfully promoting the tradition and culture of Kupres throughout the world.

SVJETLOST EYE CLINIC’S 20 YEARS OF WORK

Svjetlost Eye Clinic is the largest ophthalmology institution in the region and the first private university clinic in Croatia. During its 20 years of operations, 350,000 satisfied patients have shown their trust in Svjetlost Eye Clinic. A celebration event marked two decades of successful operations, attended by numerous Croatian and foreign high officials and public figures.

JADRANKA GROUP’S 70 YEARS OF BUSINESS

The fifth largest tourist company in Croatia and the largest employer on the islands of Lošinj and Cres, Jadranka Group, has marked 70 successful years of business in the catering/tourist and trade industry. A celebration began with a series of occasional events marking the 130th anniversary of the establishment of the Tourist Office in Mali Lošinj and 125th anniversary of the proclamation of Mali and Veli Lošinj as climatic health resorts.

THE ADRIS FOUNDATION

The Adris Foundation is the largest corporate foundation in this part of Europe. The Foundation provides support to projects that promote innovation, creativity, science and the preservation of Croatian natural and cultural heritage. With nearly 800 realized projects, thanks to the donations of the Foundation, 300 scholarships have been awarded to excellent high school students, undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate students, as well as students enrolled in doctoral study programs.

L’Oréal-UNESCO “FOR WOMEN IN SCIENCE”

The “For Women in Science” scholarship program , organized by L’Oréal Adria and the Croatian Commission for UNESCO within the Ministry of Culture, has contributed to the affirmation of Croatian scientists at the national and world level for years. So far, this program has rewarded 54 scientists.

“CROATIA IS HRVATSKA” EXHIBITION

The multimedia and interactive exhibition “Croatia is Hrvatska” that was held in Grič tunnel showed 133 years of Croatian history in a unique manner. By means of 179 artefacts, the exhibition presented at the same time the history of Croatia and her citizens, as well as the history of Croatia osiguranje (insurance company). The exhibition was the most visited exhibition in 2017 and received numerous awards. The originator and author of the concept of the exhibition is Božo Skoko, PhD.

“EY ENTREPRENUER OF THE YEAR” AWARD CEREMONY

The Croatian edition of the prestigious award “EY Entrepreneur of the Year”, which is presented to the most successful entrepreneurs by the EY auditing and consulting company. This ceremony is a part of the only global program designed to reward entrepreneurs and their achievements. The award is presented in more than 60 countries around the world, while in Croatia, the ceremony is being held since 2014.

Chairman of the Board, founder and co-owner of MPR, Chairman of the Board and owner of Edward Bernays University College, and member of the Supervisory Board of Jadranka Ltd. Mali Lošinj. Mario has conducted numerous communication projects in the fields of economics, politics and especially crisis management in Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia. In addition to PR, branding and education in the field of tourism, he is specialized in lobbying, crisis communication and strategic consulting. He is a lecturer at several colleges, and a guest lecturer at Croatian Studies and at the Postgraduate Study Programme of the Faculty of Political Science in Zagreb. Mario has a degree in public relations and is currently working on his PhD in communication science. He is also a licensed trainer of the German Scheelen Institute for the Success Insights method and the improvement of communication skills.

Since 2005, she has been a member of the Board responsible for managing all financial processes. After founding the MPR Group, Marija manages financial processes for all affiliate companies. In addition to financial management, she actively participates in managing key clients and overseeing the process of logistics, legal affairs and human resource management. She has extensive experience in management positions. For many years she worked as the director of the Croatian Information Center (HIC), the leading Croatian institution for informing Croatian emigrants during the 1990s. She also managed international finances of all offices and branches of HIC in Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and many other countries in Europe, Australia, the USA and Canada. Marija also managed financial processes in the company Potomac and the most famous Croatian fashion brand “Croata”. She graduated from the Faculty of Economics and Business in Split, and she developed further professionally by attending numerous finance and management seminars necessary for successfully conducting business processes.

Member of the Board and Partner in MPR, Strategic Communications Adviser and University Professor, Publicist and Former Journalist. Božo has conducted hundreds of communications projects for corporations, institutions and political officials, as well as a number of branding projects both in Croatia and abroad. He is the lecturer in charge for several public relations courses and is the Head of the Strategic Communication Department and Postgraduate Public Relations Study Programme at the Faculty of Political Science (University of Zagreb). Božo has published six books devoted to public relations and Croatian identity and image. He is the winner of Croatian Public Relations Association’s Grand PRix Award for contributing to the development of this profession in Croatia (2011) and the leading regional award for public relations achievements – PRO.PR (2013).

Vladimir Preselj is the Executive Director of the Millenium promocija, Croatian integrated communications agency. His areas of expertise and professional engagement in PR and marketing include various fields of communication management, such as strategic and corporate communication, crisis communication management, media relations, branding of products and destinations, etc. During the past years, Vladimir has been managing communication projects in the areas of telecommunications, IT, banking, insurance, health, retail, energy, tourism, etc. He is also an author and co-author of several scientific articles, and a lecturer at the Edward Bernays University College, the Zagreb School of Business and the Faculty of Croatian Studies, University of Zagreb.

Joško joined the MPR team in 2005, and since then he has been responsible for managing financial processes for all affiliate companies within the MPR Group. He has been working in MPR since its inception in 1999. Until 1 December 2014, he was the director of Novelti Millenium, a company specialized in branding, event management, production of promotional materials, publishing, media planning and media buying. He has specialised in event management and has organized over 700 events for domestic and foreign companies, state institutions and non-governmental organizations, and has organised the production of promotional materials (billboards, brochures, publications, manuals, radio and television spots and promotional films). As a key expert, he participated in the European Union Support Operational Structure for Operational Program – Human Resources Development in Information, Promotion and Visibility. As a consultant, he participated in the creation of material visibility for numerous EU projects – such as BIZimpact (Improved Information of the Croatian Business Community), e-Business, ICPR3 Investment Development. At the beginning of his career, as graduated lawyer, he worked as editor-in-chief of Dom&Svijet, a supplement to the foreign edition of Večernji list newspaper.

Executive Director for Education and partner in MPR, also a lecturer at Edward Bernays University College. He is a graduate lawyer and a licensed coach of the German Scheelen Institute for the Success Insights method, business trainer for communication skills and public appearances and communication expert in EU projects. Over the last fifteen years, he has specialised in business education, and has been creating, organising and carrying out education programs from areas of communication, management and selling skills as well as personal development in which over 3500 people have participated. He has coached numerous Croatian and foreign companies, institutions and organisations and as a senior communication expert has been a part of the preparation and implementation of numerous EU projects. He has been member of the MPR team since 2001. He is also a member of the Edward Bernays University College’s Board of Governors.

He studied at RRIF College for financial management in Zagreb and additionally completed professional development programs and seminars on bookkeeping and finances. He began his career in 2004 in the Croatian Information Centre, the leading Croatian institution for informing Croats living abroad, in the Satellite TV Program Department and in the War Crimes Research Department.

She has been part of the MPR team since the middle of 2018. Throughout her twenty-five-years of working experience in the real sector, she has gained significant theoretical and practical knowledge in the area of finances and accounting, human resources and other working activities needed for the successful functioning of legal entities. She has longstanding theoretical and practical experience in the communication aspects of fashion and clothing, i.e. the creation of personal image in politics and the business world. She was the director of the fashion fair “Fashion.hr Industry”. Between 2004 and 2010, she worked in Quintan Communications Public Relations Agency, where she successfully collaborated on numerous communication management projects for corporate clients, political institutions, and candidates and parties during political campaigns. She also served as Director of the Department from 2006 to 2010. She graduated journalism at the Faculty of Political Science of the University of Zagreb.26

Ljubinka has been a member of the MPR team since November 2017. She graduated from IT Management at the Zagreb University of Applied Sciences. After many years of working in the field of graphic design, she joined the Digital Marketing Department. Today, she works as a Digital Marketing Specialist, where she is in charge of planning, creating and executing marketing campaigns, and participating in numerous projects in the field of integrated marketing communication. She is particularly interested in technological media buying and programmatic advertising.

Domagoj studied journalism at the Faculty of Political Science. He acquired additional knowledge in Algebra and additional courses, and later he gained his practical knowledge working in companies and as a freelancer, both from the world of telecommunications and in the world of fashion and beauty. Some of the employers influenced the development of his career and personal preferences, so working on social networks, community, and strategy plan and development became part of everyday work. By working on the development of user platforms, he gained additional experience, as well as working in multilingual and dynamic environments and clients.

Of the areas of particular interest to her, she would highlight branding, crisis communication, and media relations. Mihovil joined the MPR team in December 2019. He is a postgraduate of Rhetorics at the Department of Phonetics and Informatics – Teaching module at the Department of Information and Communications Sciences, located on the Faculty of the humanities and social sciences, Zagreb. He has also graduates from the Elly Bašić High School of Music as a clarinetist. During his studies, he can count many volunteering hours, various student assignments and projects, participation and participation on faculty activities mostly related to the field of communication. Mihovil is also an author of two academic articles published in the Proceedings of the Third Croatian Emigrant Congress in Osijek, also starring as the guest lecturer-student at the Faculty of Arts on the topic of Social media management. As a public relations assistant, he works on different clients from various fields with the largest focus on technology, education, politics and sporting events. His main client is Samsung. He also has experience as a member of the agency’s social media department and media buying department before shifting more to PR.

He continued to gain practical experience through student work in the MPR team, where he mostly participated in projects in the sector of technology, energy, insurance, tourism and public health.
